"a leader" is a word, and as such is open to interpretation and IMO is quantified by Intent , methods & RESULTS, however WHO decides whether someone was a great leader, I dont think that anyone can state a "fact" because at different times in history Churchill, Adolf, JFK, Genghis Khan, Gandhi or Mandela etc may have been described as GREAT by "the public" at one or other time, some may have been considered the opposite at other times..
for me NONE of the current Worlds "leaders" are GREAT, or even particularly remarkable I am struggling to think of any in the last 4 decades that I admire. However, in my own role as "leader" i have accumulated experience and know-how which is far more valuable than, I propose, any MBA course on offer,
whether as Global Strategic Manager (now) or as a "Wizz kid" in my youth. keeping a balance between confidence in my own ability to manage any circumstance that may arise positively balanced with keeping an "open mind to changes around me" giving a lot of effort to whatever the task in hand,, so the advice I offer depends on the person, I DO believe in "natural leadership" as the mistakes of the military, business & govt are prime examples that contrived leaders are usually a disaster!

after my sister died young & my dad died my ma had Alzheimer's, I was abroad a lot, I tried to get someone to look after her, but my elder brother who lived nearby disagreed and put her in a home, against my opinion.. she didn't last long.. i feel shame that i couldn't do more to take care of her! i loved her very much & she & my Dad gave me so much love when I was a boy and supported MY decision to "see the world" see both sides!

I have many complaints about the society where * am based * & the global attitude towards the elderly & ageism, bit locally the houses are often 3 generations, kids , parents & grandparent(s) ... there is a place in the house always for the elderly , they are looked after forever its the old way, & & selfish modern society is wrong...!
