I had 2 situations that reminded me when I watched this... 1) i was wrongly involved with an OLDER woman when I was married, & when I returned to my wife (now deceased) she cost me almost everything.. the equivalent of burning his boat , 5 years later she phoned with just 2 words "IM sorry" & hung up, the only contact I had ,..
2) much later in life when I was the actors age, a 23 year old visited me and stayed with me 3 times * told me she loved me, but after she wen back home, the messages she sent got cooler & cooler, as I suggested visiting her in her town (another country) i realised she couldn't face explaining me to her young friends... so I arranged for her to visit me & paid for her flight, but as i went to meet her at the airport something told me she would not take it, she didn't, and she then invented an idea that I wanted to own her,,,
that was a sort of karmic revenge ... i am a mature man & i really dont need a woman, I am able to care for myself, more or ,less & I was lucky that I had more than one good woman in my life, I have loved & been loved .. we must not blame others for the choices we make..
why should sorry for her (in this film) she could have killed the man & his daughter! > ? many women have much harder lives than in this story without becomes psycho or suicidal! :) ...
basic life lessons ignored, dont try to make someone be what you want them to be, many women "catch" a man then want to "tame" them & forget that which attracted in first instance.. In this story he didn't promise anything...and possibly he didn't see that she was a spoiled brat...& had the daddy isssues when he met her father!
and a lesson for dads to love their daughters & for woman not to blame a man for their own relationship choices, in this film SHE decided what it was for both of them.! and also a message that shrinks may not help ... if she had good parenting & if she had a friend that told her the truth when she first got obsessed then maybe this doesn't go bad..
